Feather plucking is typically a behavioural condition/disorder which can be caused by many factors, including stress, boredom, sleep deprivation and sexual frustration. It may help to add more toys or foraging opportunities to your bird’s home, or allow for more interaction with humans and/or birds for long-term results. Directions for Use: Shake well before use. CXover or remove food and water containers before spraying. Avoid spraying into your bird’s eyes.
For caged birds: Use sparingly. Spray lightly at birds in the cage from about 30cm, giving only 2 or 3 gentle pumps of spray. Very young birds should only have a light mist fall on them, from 2 or 3 pumps. Use daily as required. Keep birds occupied and provide treats, mirrors, toys etc to prevent boredom. If pecking persists, suspect vitamin deficiency and give a vitamin solution to treat. Otherwise, suspect insect pests, in which case treat with an anti-mite formula or similar, alongside treating the home and accessories. To help keep plumage in good condition, regular use of a bird bath is recommended, or spray occasionally with clean, lukewarm water.
For Poultry: Spray each bird around the tail and vent and any affected parts. For baby chicks, allow only a light mist to fall on them. Use daily or as required. Isolate ring leaders, avoid over-crowing, give extra protein and vitamins, and provide scratch feed and green food. If pecking persists, suspect insect pests.
